NAURU CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Nauru Chamber of Commerce is a group of passionate entrepreneurs from small to large enterprises within the private sectors in Nauru. We work together to promote and build an empowered vibrant private sector. We collaborate with stakeholders to actively promote, support and engage local businesses, to develop business growth and success. We seek opportunities to ensure responsible economic growth for our community through private businesses. Our Story
Nauru has long aspired to the development of a robust Private Sector, in order to diversify its economy and create a sustainable future for future generations of Nauruans. Without this, Nauru’s National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) would have remained unachievable. As a National Priority, private sector development had become urgent so prompt action needed to be taken. Nauru is now facing a moment of change, with a great opportunity to develop a vibrant private sector that can significantly contribute to resilient economic growth on Nauru.
We saw how vital it is for everyone to work together, so a special planning team was formed. This group includes people from local businesses, the government, state industries, and community leaders. We started by listening to your needs through surveys, talks, and research. This led to a simple plan that follows Nauru’s sustainable goals, making sure every local business gets the help it needs to grow fairly. This plan now guides everything we do at the NCC, from our daily tasks to our long-term goals for the island. We use it to ensure we are always focused on what matters most to our members and the future of our local economy.
